Kanru is a senior statistician in the Statistics & Data Science department at NORC at the University of Chicago. She has more than 15 years of experience in survey methodology, with expertise in the areas of sampling design and survey weighting and experiences with multi-mode and multi-frame surveys.
Kanru was a lead statistician for AmeriSpeak, NORC’s breakthrough panel-based research platform, and was responsible for overseeing study design, post-survey data adjustments, variance estimation, and survey data analysis for various AmeriSpeak projects. Kanru improved AmeriSpeak’s methodology through the use of big data for propensity modeling and non-response adjustments and compared methods for combining probability and non-probability samples.
